Laptop power keeps disconnecting, why?

When I am using my laptop and moving it from A to B, the power suddenly disconnects. The power cable is still in the laptop socket, and has been getting worse more recently.

Could it be that the cable (male) is wearing out, or the socket on the laptop (female) that is causing the problems.

Have to state the cable is not being caught on anything.

i had another problem like this with a fuji siemens where the power cable had overheated and melted the inside of the socket after a while the pin becam to loose to even plug in, hopefully urs not that serious.
another solution it could be static built up in the laptop to solve this remove the battery hold the on button for about twenty seconds without the cable, this should remove static, replace battery turn on, plugin when battery runs low and see if that works.
